PLAYRIOT LLC ("we", "our", "us") operates the Grubbin AI mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information We Collect

Camera Images: When you use the fridge scanner, your camera captures images that are sent to Google's Generative AI (Gemini) service for ingredient identification. These images are processed in real-time and are not stored on our servers.

Voice Input: When you use voice input to add pantry items, speech is processed on-device using Apple's Speech Recognition framework. The transcribed text may be sent to Google's Generative AI for parsing. Audio recordings are not stored.

Recipe URLs: When you import a recipe by URL, the URL and extracted content are sent to OpenAI's API for processing. We do not store these URLs on our servers.

Local Data: All pantry items, recipes, meal suggestions, grocery lists, household profiles, dietary preferences, and ratings are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to use features that require AI processing.

Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect your name, email address, or any account information (no account required)
We do not collect location data
We do not collect health or fitness data
We do not collect financial information (subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple)
We do not collect contacts, browsing history, or search history
We do not use advertising trackers or analytics SDKs

Third-Party Services

Grubbin AI uses the following third-party services for AI processing:

Google Generative AI (Gemini): Processes fridge images and voice input for ingredient identification. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
OpenAI: Generates meal suggestions and processes recipe imports. Subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
Instacart: Provides affiliate grocery ordering links. When you tap "Order on Instacart", you are redirected to the Instacart app or website, subject to Instacart's Privacy Policy.

Subscriptions

Grubbin AI offers optional in-app subscriptions managed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not collect or have access to your payment information. Subscription management and billing are handled by Apple subject to their terms.

Data Storage and Security

All user data is stored locally on your device. We do not operate servers that store your personal data. AI processing is done via encrypted API calls to third-party services, and no user data is retained by these services beyond the duration of the API request (subject to their respective privacy policies).

Children's Privacy

Grubbin AI does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is designed for general audiences and does not require any personal information to use.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
